Chinese Policewoman Breastfeeds Infants After China Earthquake

May 22, 2008

This is a remarkable story. A Chinese policewoman, who is helping during the earthquake aftermath, is breastfeeding 8 infants who are either orphans, or whose mothers are unable to feed them because of the trauma. Here's a story on CNN. Here's another link to the story.

The Motherwear Blog also has a story about how breastfeeding can save lives during a natural disaster.

This is a very moving article. Thank you for sharing.

I've seen so many links to this story and seen so many pictures of this woman. I can't tell you how heartening it is, not only for what she is doing for those children, but to know that it is making NEWS all over the world! This woman, doing something so natural to her that she didn't even have to think twice about it, is being praised as a HERO all over the world.

A HERO!!

I hope she is inspiring lactating women throughout China and others follow suit. If I was there I wouldn't hesitate to do what I could.

Awesome! What a fantastic story.

WOW just amazing. And I think I'd do the samething. she is a hero for all moms alike.
