Exercise ArchivesExercise MotivationMay 03, 2007For the past two months I've been sitting on my butt, finishing my book. I figured chasing the kids and lifting them up and down and up again counted as exercise. The reality is, it doesn't. And more than anything, I need the exercise as a chance to clear my head and get at least an hour "off." So Tanya's challenge to get in shape this spring seems like good motivation. Tanya found the WOMAN Challenge, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of National Women's Health Week. We're going to do at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day for 8 weeks, starting on Mother's Day, May 13th. Yes, pushing a stroller counts. If you join the challenge you get email updates, a tracking log, a pedometer (while supplies last), and you'll be able to track our team's virtual progress on a map. Our team, The Breastfeeding Babes, chose the cross-country route, which starts in San Francisco, and ends in Washington, D.C. If you want to join our team, here's what to do: 1. Sign up here. If you choose to count your activity in steps, you may get a free pedometer (while supplies last). |
